  Welcome to the official Website of "The Blues Man" himself, Pervis Spann.  Pervis Spann is a legend in the entertainment and radio broadcast industry.  He is know world wide as "The Blues Man".   From rock star legends to the president of the United States, he has met them.  Pervis Spann the entrepreneur, at one point owned eight radio stations.  He built six stations throughout the United States while working at WVON and promoting world renowned artists and entertainers.  And now an author, who has penned with the assistance of free-lance writer, Linda C. Walker,  "The 40 Year Spann of WVON.

Pervis Spann, the legendary late night blues man, has written a personal history of "The Talk of Chicago," WVON.  The radio station of which he acquired part ownership.  Pervis Spann wrote this book to recount the glory days that he experienced during his 40 year tenure at Chicago's premier African American radio station in the mid 20th century, WVON 1450 AM.  This book tells how Pervis Spann went from a local disc jockey at WVON to an owner of eight radio stations including WVON.  He will autograph your copy or copies of "The 40 Year Spann of WVON" while on his book tour.  The book is also available at local and national book seller outlets.
