Protect your system from Conficker
There are millions of viruses present in this world and one of the most dangerous worms after the 2003 SQL slammer is the Conficker virus which was first discovered in 2008. This virus used to steal the important data like credit card password, and other important data from our machine. This virus mostly targets the Microsoft operating system. This conficker uses the most advanced techniques to attack the machine and it is almost difficult to eradicate.
This virus attacked systems will show some of the following symptoms,
• At first this Conficker blocks the access to any anti virus application installed in the system and if there is any difficulty in accessing the anti virus application means then this could be Conficker.
• Some of the windows services like error reporting, automatic updates etc will be blocked.
• There will be congestion in the LAN (local area network).
• User account will be locked out permanently.
• Client’s requests will be responded slowly.
The Conficker is attacking most of the Microsoft operating system and hence Microsoft is ready to offer $250,000 to the person who gives information about the individuals behind the Conficker creation.
Microsoft has introduced Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool to remove this Conficker and also to prevent its re-infection. There is also number of other third party software available in the market with which you can protect your machine. Some of the third party software is Panda security, Symantec, Kaspersky etc.
Experts say that there are about four million systems infected by Conficker and this number is increasing fast. The Conficker is updating itself constantly and make sure that your system is not affected by this Conficker.
