The first laptop was created by Adam Osborne in 1981 USA. That first model was named as Osborne I and it is the first portable model. Fom 1982 the laptop weighs about 11 kg and has a 64 KB RAM subsystem CP / M 8 bits and that got reduced as days passed with the help of technology improvement. The first created laptop is supplied without hard disk and it is loaded with two floppy drives with a capacity of less than 80 kilobyte. This first laptop was designed to keep it under the passenger seat on the plane to avoid the baggage. It came with a limited set of standard office programs for use in a professional setting. It is equipped with a 12 volt battery.

Beginning in 1985 with the arrival of Toshiba Papman we start to produce portable laptop. Portable means that the machine was connected to a power outlet and also equipped with a battery and could be used anywhere.But the durability of the battery is very low when comparing to todays laptop. The Papman was the first “true” portable PC.

But today we can get a laptop for very high configuration than the past one and also with the lesser price when compared to the old one. Today we can configure or customize the laptop before buying. Such options are available in some companies and that will satisfy most of the customers because they can get the laptop at their specification. So it is easy for one to buy a laptop nowadays when comparing to the past.

The Panasonic Toughbook is the only note book which will withstand any type of climate. It will withstand both the maximum and the minimum temperatures over 140 degree and below -20 degree Fahrenheit. The note book is fabricated in such way that it can withstand those temperatures. There is a function key with which we can control the entire lights of the Toughbook and we can customize the control to specific lights like backlight, LED’s, screen light and even WiFi and Bluetooth can be controlled with that single function(fn) key.

OLPC(One Laptop Per Child).This laptop is only meant for the kids for learning purpose. Both the academy team and industrial team worked for a long time to create this XO laptop. Thus both the technology and the learning is integrated in this. The environmental conditions like humidity, heat are considered while creating this.

This laptop will be used by the kids and so it is light in weight and it is in attractive color and the size is like a text book and the weight is less than a lunchbox. The edges are in round shape and so it won’t get damaged soon and it have a kid sized handle and rubber membrane key board in it. It also has touchpad and that supports drawing and writing. LiFePO4 or NiMH batteries are used which lasts long. In many case studies it was found that many laptop fails due to hard drive failure and internal connection collapse and hence this XO laptop is without hard drive and the internal connectors are of 3mm thick while the normal one are of 1.3mm thick. Wireless antenna is present with high performance then the normal laptops.

In 1936 the publication of the article the founder of Science on Computable Numbers with an Application to the Entscheidungs problem by Alan Mathison Turing was to kick off the establishment of the programmable computer. There’s this Turing machine the first universal programmable calculator and invented the concepts of programming and curriculum. The word computer was introduced by IBM in 1955.

From then no one can stop the growth of computer. Computer entered in those areas which were never expected before like medicine field, space exploration, education etc. The first computer was designed just for some calculations but today’s computer is present in every field. More or less every home is with a PC.

Even a baby starts its first play in computer nowadays. Kids are addicted to computer games. Graphics and animation is one of the field which exploits computer at its maximum. Most of the Hollywood movies depend on the computer for animation. Even many governments depend on the revenue generated by the information technology sector which grows only with the computer and its knowledge.

Defense is the word which is given more importance by every government also depends largely on computer. Telemarketing, education, space projects, medical field etc depends on computer. This world will stand still for sure if the entire computer disappears suddenly.

Sony is well with the sales of Sony Vaio P Series not fully satisfied. Sony plans to bring out the latest in October, a new version of the mini notebooks. Sony has only recently even a true netbook, the Vaio W presented.
There are several points of criticism, to a Windows Vista, the extremely slow boot up, and especially the price. Here, Sony promises to improve especially with Windows 7
